The theme of this image is that it’s important to recognise history and the hard work that has brought you to this point. The famous physicist Isaac Newton once said of his success, “If I have seen further, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.” This is certainly true of Europe’s recent Ryder Cup victories. This image of Graeme sat alongside that of Ian Poulter in the player dining area for all to see. Standing in a sea of Ryder Cups, it depicts Graeme with a set of scales in his right hand with all the previous European victories stacked up on top of one another and in his left hand there are the future Ryder Cup dates stacked up in two-year increments. The link line reads ‘Passion created our past…Attitude will shape our future’. Fortunately, Europe has both passion and attitude in abundance.
