The inspiration for this incredible image came from Justin’s amazing putt on the 17th hole at Medinah during his singles match against Phil Mickelson in 2012. One only has to watch a movie like Gladiator to see how the reaction and participation of a passionate crowd or audience can influence the energy of a performance. If you can add an extra ‘WHY’ to the motivation for a player to want to make a putt or hit an iron shot close to the hole, you almost immediately double the commitment and desire. Paul McGinley had told me that during his many Ryder Cup experiences, he often had a premonition of the crowd’s reaction before he holed an important putt. This image depicts Justin elevating the emotion of the crowd like David Copperfield after he had anticipated, prepared and holed his sublime shot.
